Effects of an Adapted Telehealth Training Curriculum for Registered Behavior Technicians
In this Journal Club recording, Hannah Macnaul explains an adapted telehealth curriculum for technicians coaching caregivers under BCBA supervision. Macnaul distinguishes synchronous from asynchronous telehealth and reviews instruction, modeling, rehearsal, and feedback. The study's checklist covers pre-session planning, setup, and session delivery, including technology, privacy, and shared appointment goals.
She reports that all seven therapist participants reached 100% coaching fidelity in three sessions and applied their skills with a novel family without additional coaching. Participants included RBTs and therapists working toward the credential; the reported percentage measures therapist checklist performance.
She also discusses unequal opportunities to perform steps across baseline and training, graduate-program recruitment, and the absence of a component analysis.

A question from the original audience
Why did the study include no RBTs with only a high school diploma?
Participants were recruited from a graduate programme. They were already pursuing BCBA certification and either held an RBT credential or were working toward it.
